Law Conference at DIAS

Gaelic Immersion Weekend -- Kingston, Ontario

A Gaelic Immersion Weekend will be held 11-13 April 2014 in Kingston, Ontario.  The cost for the weekend, including meals and accommodations at the Peachtree Inn, is $200.00.  For more information on the event, visit the North American Gaeltacht website.

Call for Papers -- MLA Discussion Group

The call for papers has been announced for the MLA Celtic Languages and Literatures Discussion Group at the 2015 MLA meeting in Vancouver.  Proposals for papers of twenty minutes in length on "the longevity and transportability of Celtic languages, literatures, or cultures" are due to Lahney Preston-Matto by 30 March 2014.

Bloomington Celtic Culture Weekend

The Bloomington Celtic Culture Weekend will take place 2-4 May 2014 at Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington, Indiana.  Irish-language classes are available for beginners through fluent speakers.  "Participants can expect to receive roughly 10 hours of direct classroom instruction and an opportunity to participate in cultural outings, workshops, and presentations."  Registration is $125.00 for individuals.  Groups of four or more get a discount of $25.00 per person.  For more information on the event, email the organizers.

Call for Papers -- International Congress 2015

The Fifteenth International Congress of Celtic Studies will be held 13-17 July 2015 at the University of Glasgow.  Proposals for papers will be accepted from 1 May 2014 till 1 November 2014.  For more information, visit the congress website.

Call for Papers -- HCC 2014

The call for papers has just been announced for the Thirty-Fourth Annual Harvard Celtic Colloquium, which will be held 10-12 October 2014 at Harvard University.  Proposals of 200-250 words together with a brief author's bio, should be sent to conference organizers by 1 May 2014 in RTF or Word format.


The John V. Kelleher Lecture will be given on 9 October 2014 at 5:00 in the Harvard Faculty Club by Ann Parry Owen of the Centre for Advanced Welsh & Celtic Studies.

Call for Papers -- Finn Cycle Conference

The call for papers has just been announced for Fíanaigecht: The 2nd International Finn Cycle Conference, which will be held 11-12 August 2014 at the University of Glasgow.  Proposals of 300 words or less for papers of twenty-minutes in length in English, Gaelic, or Irish are due to conference organizers by 16 May 2014.

Call for Papers -- Gaelic Linguistics Conference

The call for papers has been announced for The Linguistics of the Gaelic Languages XVI, a conference that will be held 9-10 May 2014 at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.  Abstracts of around 200 words for twenty-minute papers on "any aspect of the linguistics of Gaelic languages" should be sent to the conference email address by 11 April 2014.  For more information on the conference, contact Professor David Stifter.
