"Papers are invited for volume IX of Studia Celtica Fennica, the peer-reviewed annual publication of the Finnish Society for Celtic Studies SFKS ry.
We welcome submissions of articles and book reviews written in all major European languages and Celtic languages as well as Finnish and Swedish. The deadline for articles is 31st July 2012.
Studia Celtica Fennica is adopting a delayed open access policy with the volumes published online on an open access platform a year after the publication of the printed issue.

Call for Papers -- MLA 2013
The call for papers has just been issued for the Celtic Languages and Literature panel at the 2013 Modern Languages Association Meeting, which will be held next year in Boston. Abstracts of 250 words on any aspect of Celtic Studies are due to Tara MacLeod by 17 February 2012.

Irish Immersion Weekend in IN -- April 2012

Summer Schools in Welsh -- Bangor 2012
Information on this year's Summer Schools in Welsh and Celtic at Prifysgol Bangor University has been posted on the school's website. The three courses for 2012 are Welsh language, Welsh literature, and Welsh history and archaeology. Registration and accommodation information is also available on the site.
Call for Papers -- Bangor 2012
The call for papers has just been issued for the Inaugural Bangor Conference of Celtic Studies, which will be held 21-23 July 2012 at Prifysgol Bangor University, North Wales. Papers in Welsh or English on any aspect of Celtic Studies are welcome. Proposals of 250 words in length should be submitted to conference organizers, Raimund Karl and Katharine Olson, by 17 February 2012.

"Locating Revolution: Place, Voice, Community 1780-1820
Aberystwyth 9-12 July 2012
A conference jointly hosted by the Wales and the French Revolution Project at the University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies; the Centre for Romantic Studies, Aberystwyth University; and the Department of English, Swansea University.
This conference explores the relation between geography (considered as place, landscape, cartography, and real and imagined space) and change during the period of the revolutionary wars. In what local, localised forms did the European upheavals of the age manifest themselves? How were social, religious and political loyalties conditioned by particular landscapes and environments? What were the coordinates of loyalism and opposition in particular rural, regional, urban and metropolitan communities? The conference seeks to place 'history' in specific locations, mapping connections across Europe, the Atlantic, and the wider world. It also sets out to consider the dramatic material forms that Romanticism, revolution and reaction took at this time. Delegates are invited to consider a range of cultural productions, material objects and literary forms with a view to revealing how the multiform phenomenon we term 'Romanticism' was experienced on the ground and in precise cultural locations.
Abstracts for 25-minute papers, and suggestions for panels, should be sent by 31st January 2012 to Angharad Elias. Panels on the following are particularly welcome:
