Call for Papers -- Irish and Scottish Conference, Aberdeen

The AHRC Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Aberdeen is hosting a conference under the title "Cross-Currents" for "postgraduate students and research fellows" in Irish or Scottish Studies. The conference will be held 12-14 April 2013 on their campus. Abstracts of 200 words for papers of 25-minutes in length are due to Shane Alcobia-Murphy by 28 January 2013. Selected papers from the conference will be published.

Irish Conference of Medievalists -- Change of Dates

There has been a change of dates for the 27th Irish Conference of Medievalists in order to avoid a conflict with the Leeds International Medieval Conference.   ICM will now be held 10-12 July 2013. The venue, University College Dublin, remains the same.

Call for Papers -- California Celtic Conference 2013

The call for papers has just been announced for the 35th California Celtic Studies Conference, which will be held at the University of California, Berkeley 15-17 March 2013. Featured speakers include Brynley Roberts, Máire Ní Mhaonaigh, Jasmine Donahaye, Joseph Nagy, Jim McCloskey, and Eric Falci. Abstracts of 500 words on any aspect of Celtic Studies are due to Eve Sweetser by 10 December 2012.

Sixth Bangor Colloquium on Medieval Wales

Booking information and a provisional program are now available for the Sixth Bangor Colloquium on Medieval Wales, which will be held 10-11 November 2012 at Bangor University.  The evening before the conference begins, Janet Burton of Trinity Saint David will deliver the Second J. E. Loyd Lecture.  Other invited speakers include Wendy Davies, Dylan Foster Evans, and David Stephenson.  For more information on this event, contact Linda Jones.

Lebor na hUidre Conference -- RIA 2012

Program and registration information for the Royal Irish Academy's conference on Lebor na hUidre, which will be held 22-23 November 2012, is now available on the academy's website. 'Call for Papers: Special Sessions in Honour of Ann Dooley and David Klausner

Celtic Studies Association of North America Annual Meeting

April 18-21, 2013

University of Toronto, jointly hosted by the Centre for Medieval Studies, St. Michael's College and Trinity College

In honour of the distinguished and influential careers of Toronto Celticists Ann Dooley and David Klausner, we are inviting abstracts for two special sessions at CSANA 2013.  In consideration of the broad-ranging nature of their work, specific themes have not been assigned for the sessions; however, the intention is that the themes of the papers should intersect in some way with the research of either Ann Dooley or David Klausner.  Papers that connect the honourees’ work – such as Ann Dooley’s translation of the Acallam na Senórach or David Klausner’s research on drama and performance in medieval Wales – to current trends and developments in the field of Celtic Studies are particularly welcome.  Although it is by no means a requirement, former students of Ann Dooley and David Klausner are especially encouraged to apply. Abstracts that are not selected will be forwarded to the general CSANA Call for Papers.

The call for papers has just been issued for the annual conference of the Celtic Studies Association of North America, which will be held 18-21 April 2013 at the University of Toronto. Proposals for papers of twenty-minutes in length dealing with any aspect of Celtic Studies are due to David N. Klausner by 1 January 2013.
