Workshop on Celtic Syntax

The Linguistics Department at the University of California, Berkeley is hosting a workshop entitled 'New Perspectives on Celtic Syntax', which will take place on their campus 7-8 September 2012.  More information about this workshop, which is free and open to the public, is available on the UCB website.

SCE Prizes Awarded

The Societas Celtologica Europaea has just announced the winners of its 2012 M.A. and Ph.D. thesis prizes.

The award for the best M.A. thesis in Celtic Studies went to Deirdre Hosford of Trinity College Dublin for her work on 'Two Fragmentary Middle Irish Texts on Care for the Elderly in Early Irish Law'.

The prize for the best Ph.D. thesis went to Greta Anthoons of the University of Bangor for her work on 'Migration and elite networks as modes of cultural exchange in Iron Age Europe: a case study of contacts between the Continental and the Arras Culture'.
